BREAKING: BRAVO! Senator Mark Kelly gives the PERFECT response when asked if America is ready for a disabled First Lady in his wife, Gabby Giffords: “We have a disabled President right now.”

And that’s not all he said…

Giffords, a former congresswoman, was shot in the head by a would-be assassin in Arizona in 2011. Thankfully, she survived the attack and has made an astounding recovery, though her brain suffered damage to the region that handles speech in the form of non-fluent aphasia.

In a new piece in The Atlantic, Kelly discussed the possibility of running for President and reporter Mark Leibovich covered the unique marriage dynamic between the senator and his wife. Whereas Giffords was once a chatterbox, she’s now more limited in her speech and Kelly does most of the talking.

At one point during his conversations with the two, Leibovich asked Kelly if America is ready for a “disabled” First Lady. While Kelly is still unsure if he wants to run, he didn’t hesitate in his response—

“Hey, in my opinion, we have a disabled president right now,” said Kelly.

The difference, of course, is that Giffords’ disability was caused by a bloodthirsty gunman and Trump’s is the result of worsening cognitive decline from aging, likely dementia. And while the former has overcome her challenges to become one of the nation’s leading advocates for gun violence prevention, the latter has allowed his rotting mind to destroy the global economy, alienate every single one of our allies, and start a doomed and illegal war with Iran.

Senator Kelly could not stop singing Giffords’s praises and we don’t blame him.

She’s an awe-inspiring woman.

“The way she connects with people is unlike anybody else I’ve ever known,” Kelly said of his wife. “Before she was injured, people used to compare her with Bill Clinton.”

“She’s been in this business. And she had, you know, like the worst thing that any politician could have happen, right? She gets shot in the head,” he added.

Together, she and Kelly form an inspiring couple that offers a stark contrast to the pedophile and fascist enabler who currently inhabit the White House. Simply put, Trump and Melania represent rock bottom for this country.

“Certainly, if I was not married to Gabby, I would not be sitting here,” Kelly said during another conversation with Leibovich. “And if she wasn’t shot, I mean, I wouldn’t be here, right?”
