Eyewitnesses say the incident occurred just minutes into the briefing when Trump was addressing questions from reporters on policy matters. Suddenly, an object—believed to be a commemorative coin—was hurled from the crowd, striking the former president near his left eye. Secret Service agents immediately intervened, rushing him from the scene as the crowd gasped in disbelief.
The suspect was detained at the scene and is being questioned by authorities. Officials have not confirmed a motive, but early reports suggest the individual may have been attempting to get Trump’s attention rather than intending harm.
Trump was taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for evaluation. A spokesperson later said he is in stable condition and recovering, though no official statement has yet been made by Trump himself.
