Simone Biles Makes Big Announcement on Post-Olympics Future
Simone Biles fought through a painful calf injury to take first place in her first all-around gymnastics competition in Paris’ Summer Olympics on Sunday, posting top scores among all competitors in the vault and floor routine.
Biles, 27, is arguably the most famous and respected athlete at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Biles boasts a large fanbase in the United States.
Biles was born in Columbus, Ohio, and grew up in Spring, Texas, north of the Houston area.
The highly decorated, four-time gold medal-winning Team USA gymnast made a big announcement regarding her plans after the history Paris Olympics that has caused excitement among U.S. fans.
The plan is for Biles to headline the ‘Gold Over America’ live arena tour of the United States beginning on September 17.
The tour will make stops at 30 different arenas throughout the country
The goal is to showcase Biles and other athletes in a pop concert-style spectacle that will showcase the “athletic brilliance” and championship journeys of her and other athletes.
Others expected to join the tour include Peng-Peng Lee, Katelyn Ohashi, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, Shilese Jones, Fred Richard, Melanie Johanna De Jesus Dos Santos, Kayla Dicello, Evita Griskenas, and Casmiri Schmidt.
