Sad News:Lily Allen Says She Returned Her Adopted Rescue Dog After the Pup Ate Her….see more
Lily Allen shared that she returned a dog she adopted during the pandemic following an incident with her family’s passports.
Miquita Oliver, the “Smile” singer revealed that her family plans to adopt a Chihuahua mix soon. She added that her daughters, Ethel and Marnie, who she shares with her ex-husband Sam Cooper, have already picked the name Jude Bellingham for the upcoming pup.
Welsh television presenter Steve Jones, the podcast’s guest for the Aug. 22 episode, told Allen that getting a dog was “a hell of a commitment” and asked if she and her husband, David Harbour, were ready for it. Allen responded that the family had already adopted a dog together, “but then it ate my passport, and so I took her back to the home.”
She ate all 3 of our passports, and they had our visas in. And I cannot tell you how much money it cost me to get everything replaced because it was in COVID. And so it was just an absolute logistical nightmare,” Allen continued
The musician, who lives in the U.S. with Harbour, added that since Cooper, her daughters’ father, lives in England, the children could not see their father for several months because the “f—ing dog had eaten the passports.”
Allen then said that after the ordeal, she told the dog, “You ruined my life,” and added that the pup had been “very badly behaved” and “it just didn’t work out.”
PEOPLE reached out to Allen for further comment but has yet to receive a response.
Though Allen doesn’t mention the name of the dog she claims to have returned, she did adopt a puppy in 2021 with Harbour. The couple married in September 2020.
