Prince William makes touching Princess Diana admission in new ITV documentary
A new clip released by ITV from Prince William’s upcoming documentary about homelessness reveals he was “inspired” by his late mother, Princess Diana of Wales.
Overlaying video footage of Prince William conducting work at engagements, he says in a voiceover: “I have taken some inspiration and guidance from what my mother did, particularly with homelessness.”
In addition, he says: “I’ve slowly tried to work out what can I bring to the role and the platform that I have..”
The new preview for his upcoming ITV documentary Prince William: We Can End Homelessness, shows the Prince of Wales behind the scenes on the journey of his campaign, Homewards.
The documentary shows the first year of his campaign to end homelessness, which is set to be a five-year initiative.
The clip which has been uploaded to ITV’s Instagram account, also shows William chatting with former English footballer, Farah Williams.
Royal fans have flocked to social media to show encouragement for the work Prince William has been conducting during the campaign.
Instagram user @bestofwaleses wrote: “William is his mother’s true son. Diana would not only be proud of the incredible man he has become, but also proud that her son is the best future King Britain could have…”
Another said: “Watching the Prince of Wales work intensively on such important and little-talked-about issues is something to be inspired by. I’m proud of everything the Prince of Wales has done with homewards and I can’t wait to watch this documentary!”
An eager fan awaiting the documentary, wrote: “Homewards is a such wonderful and kind project. As fans and admirers, we are proud of the Prince of Wales and can’t wait to watch this!”
Reflecting on the late Diana’s work to end homelessness, another wrote: “Your mother, the beautiful Princess Diana, is watching you from heaven with pride for carrying on her legacy. Well done.”
The clip uploaded by ITV had 12K likes and over 100 comments just two hours after it was uploaded onto Instagram.
The future king has set his sights on making rough sleeping, sofa surfing and other forms of temporary accommodation a thing of the past with the ambitious initiative called Homewards.
The documentary is set to feature well-known advocates of the programme, alongside those leading individual projects across the UK.
