Oilers Get Promising Connor McDavid Injury Update full story below ππ
At least that’s the belief that most Edmonton Oilers’ fans hold. Especially after watching the “Whatever It Takes” documentary that was released around four years ago.
That documentary gave viewers insight into the determination and resilience that McDavid possesses. Anything injury related that surfaces about McDavid shouldn’t be a surprise after watching that film.
In exit interviews on Wednesday, Kris Knoblauch confirmed that McDavid had sustained an injury. He also declined to give any more details. Some believe he has played with an injury all season, while others think this injury occurred during the playoffs.
Regardless of the nature of the injury, there is clarification on the next step in recovery for the Oilers’ captain.
TSN’s Ryan Rishaug reported on Twitter yesterday, “Connor McDavid will not require any off season surgery and will be ready for the start of training camp.”
The fact that he doesn’t need surgery is a big deal. It’s possible that whatever this injury is could be resolved with surgery and he is electing to not go that route. Without knowing exactly what the injury is, that’s all speculation at this point.
Either way it’s a win for the Oilers and Oilers’ fans. McDavid being able to start training camp on time is crucial. With the crushing disappointment of losing in Game seven of the Stanley Cup Final fresh in his mind – the rest of the league should look out.
McDavid doesn’t like to lose. And now that he’s tasted the Cup Final, he’ll be even more locked in than previously.
