Jason Kelce Admits Tough Decision He Made for Travis Kelce
Jason Kelce recently shared how he struggled with a tough decision between supporting his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, and his younger brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
During Wednesday’s episode of the “New Heights” podcast, Jason Kelce admitted that he had to choose between attending the Eagles’ NFC championship game against the Washington Commanders or going to Missouri to watch the Chiefs take on the Buffalo Bills at the AFC championship.
That was the biggest thing I was struggling with all week. ‘Do I go to Travis’ game or do I stay in Philly?'” he said.
Jason Kelce had long desired to experience the exciting Philly victory celebration. His wife, Kylie Kelce, also suggested that if he stayed, they could join the crowds in Broad Street for the iconic celebration.
However, Jason Kelce decided to watch the Chiefs, prioritizing being there for Travis Kelce.
“Ultimately, I wanted to be out there for you,” Jason Kelce explained.
Despite failing to watch the Eagles in person, Jason Kelce kept up with the game and did a recap with his brother. While watching the recap, the former NFL star praised Philly’s performance.
As Super Bowl LIX draws near, Jason Kelce faces even bigger pressure that everyone is asking: Who will he be rooting for?
In a diplomatic approach, Jason Kelce acknowledged his loyalty to both teams for good reason.
“I’m always going to root for Travis,” he said.
However, Jason Kelce also emphasized his connection to the Eagles and the people there who feel like family.
“I’m rooting for Philadelphia and I’m rooting for Travis Kelce,” he added. “I want the Eagles to win, but I also want Travis Kelce to win. I just want to see a good football game.”
In the end, Jason Kelce is just hoping for a great game.
