In Photos: Connor McDavid’s wife Lauren Kyle dons $10,990 gown, gold crystal studded Dior heels and Tiffany jewellery during couple’s first dance
Fans had been waiting for details of Connor McDavid and Lauren Kyle’s wedding since the end of July. Last week, we saw the release of the wedding photos, and since then, Lauren has been sharing more inside looks from the Oilers captain’s gala wedding.
On Saturday, Lauren Kyle posted a series of pictures and clips on her Instagram story from the couple’s first dance. The couple can be seen slow-dancing with Lauren in her white reception gown.For their first dance, Connor McDavid wore a tailor-made white suit paired with black pants and sported a black bow tie. Lauren wore a stunning, Oscar De la Renta crystal leaves column gown worth $10,990 with intricate silver leaf-patterned embellishments that covered the dress from the bodice down.
“I paired this dress with gold crystal studded Dior heels I found during my bachelorette in Paris and a tennis bracelet and earrings from Tiffany that had the vine pattern as the dress,” Lauren told Vogue Australia.
The couple danced to Ben Howard’s “Only Love” playing in the background. It was the same song Connor had played on guitar while proposing to Lauren. Their dog Lenard later joined them on the floor.
“Another memorable moment for me was my father-daughter dance with my dad,” Lauren said. “He used to rock me as a baby to the song ‘For The First Time’ by Rod Stewart, and he would say to my mum: this will be the song I dance with her to on her wedding day, he finally got to live out that dream
Rachel Dunford, the event organizer, also shared a short clip from McDavid’s wedding reception and the couple’s first dance with Adam Phillips on the mic.

Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid tied the knot with his longtime partner Lauren Kyle earlier last month. It was a weekend-long event, with the wedding on July 27 on a private island in Muskoka.The wedding was attended by the couple’s close friends, teammates and their families. Leon Draisaitl’s fiancee Celeste Desjardins was one of the bridesmaids, as were Cam McDavid’s partner Sarah Nanacsik, Liv Hall, Pat Maroon’s wife Francesca Maroon and Sam Gagner’s wife Rachel Gagner. Gagner’s daughter Cali got to hold the train of Lauren’s gown as the flower girl.
The afterparty was equally iconic with music and celebrations going on to the fullest. According to Vogue Australia, Lauren sported seven looks for the wedding event, each as stunning as the other.
Connor McDavid and his on-ice partner Leon Draisaitl lifted Lauren during the afterparty as the bride raised a bottle of tequila. It was a “perfect” wedding, as Lauren Kyle wrote on her Instagram.With McDavid starting a new chapter in his personal life, fans will be hoping that it brings luck for the Oilers captain when the team heads into the new season with championship aspirations.
