While there is an argument to be made insofar as keeping McDavid with Hyman and Nugent-Hopkins, it’s also worth noting that Leon Draisaitl could benefit from playing with a high-end winger like Skinner. Draisaitl has lacked such talent consistently. So, it would make sense to partner Skinner with Draisaitl.Ultimately, Kris Knoblauch is faced with fixing something that isn’t broken. In that regard, it might be best to keep the top line together, as the success McDavid and linemates found last year was key to the team’s success. Another similar season could help the club get over the hump and take home the Cup.
