In Photo: Connor McDavid’s fiancée Lauren Kyle preps up as wedding week comes knocking for couple
Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid will marry his longtime girlfriend Lauren Kyle this Saturday. The duo got engaged last summer and have been together since McDavid’s rookie NHL season. They met through mutual friends Taylor Hall and Luke Gazdic. They got engaged by a lake in Ontario on June 25, 2023, and have been planning their wedding since then
As the wedding day approaches, Lauren Kyle has been sharing updates on Instagram. On Wednesday, she reposted from her friend Liv Hall with the caption:
“Let the wedding week begin.”
This excitement follows an Instagram post from Lauren last June. She shared her excitement and hope for her and McDavid’s future together.
She captioned the post:
“22.06.23 was the best day of my life. I cannot put into words how happy I am to be spending the rest of our lives together. Almost 8 years of growth, happiness and so much love and I can’t believe we have so much more to look forward to.
“I knew you were my person from the day we met and I can’t wait for the beautiful life we are going to create together. Thank you for the most thoughtful, picture perfect proposal that I could never have imagined. I love you more than anything.”
The wedding is expected to welcome many well-known guests. Connor McDavid’s teammates Leon Draisaitl and Darnell Nurse will be part of the wedding party. Draisaitl will show up with his fiancée, Celeste Desjardins.As the big day gets closer, Connor McDavid and Lauren Kyle are ready to celebrate their love with their family, friends and hockey stars around them. This marks a new part of their life together.

In February 2023, Connor McDavid revealed in a GQ interview that Kyle was managing their wedding plans. He noted his main task was ensuring his groomsmen looked sharp and were punctual.
“I’ve got to make sure that I’ve got my guys dressed, looking good and heading down the aisle on time,” McDavid said. “That’s been my role so far. Maybe Lauren will ask for some help as we get a little closer. But so far, it’s been easy.”
Lauren threw a bachelorette bash in France and had a chic bridal shower this month. The France trip went through Paris and Courchevel. Celeste Desjardins captured the journey showing celebrations with masks of the future groom.
Alexie Andlauer, Rachel Yelena Gagner, Francesca Vangel and Sarah Nancsik joined as guests.
