Country Singer Zach Bryan Apologizes Amid Backlash Over Taylor Swift and Kanye West Tweet

Published

Zach Bryan has learned a powerful lesson—don’t drink and tweet.

The country singer found himself in hot water on Sept. 18 when he tweeted about Taylor Swift and Kanye West with the message, “Eagles > chiefs,” followed by, “Kanye > Taylor,” adding, “Who’s with me?”

Not surprisingly, Swifties everywhere were not with Zach, who later deleted his X account (formerly Twitter) in the wake of the backlash from the post.

The tweet had several layers of insults as Taylor’s boyfriend Travis Kelce is a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and the “Reputation” singer has a tense history with Kanye, who along with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian has been the subject of many of Taylor’s diss tracks.

Zach backpedaled early in the morning on Sept. 19, posting lengthy messages to his Instagram Story apologizing and explaining his actions.

“For the record guys I wasn’t coming for Taylor the other night,” the “Heading South” singer wrote on top of a screengrab of Taylor’s song with Post Malone “Fortnight.” “I was drunkenly comparing two records and it came out wrong.”

Acknowledging the longtime feud between Taylor and Kanye in addition to the controversies surrounding the “Gold Digger” rapper, the 28-year-old continued, “I know there’s a lot of stuff that clouds around Ye and I was speaking purely musically. I love Taylor’s music and pray you guys know I’m human and tweet stupid things often.”

Zach added that he hoped to “one day explain” his comments to the “Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” singer.

“Twitter gets me in trouble too much and I’d say it’s best I stay off it,” he noted. “I’m sorry to any Taylor fans I pissed off or let down. Love you guys and I’m trying my best!”

But the message didn’t end there. Zach continued in a new post featuring Taylor’s song “The Albatross,” sharing that he’s been “going through a hard time in my own life,” adding, “I think I was projecting a little.”
Praising the Grammy winner, Zach continued, “I respect her so much as a musician that the last thing I want is people thinking I don’t appreciate and love what she has done for music.”

He concluded his message with a warning to fans: “Don’t drink and tweet. Don’t drink and tweet!!”

🚨 BREAKING: Donald Trump has just been rocked by what insiders are calling his worst poll result ever, as a once-reliable Texas Republican stronghold stuns the nation by flipping blue. The shock numbers have sent tremors through conservative circles and triggered open panic among Trump allies. For decades, this seat was considered untouchable—a symbol of red-state dominance. But the latest polling tells a very different story. Voters appear to be breaking sharply away, signaling frustration, fatigue, and a growing appetite for change that party leaders failed to anticipate. This isn’t just a bad poll—it’s a warning siren. Strategists are scrambling, donors are nervous, and the narrative of “safe red territory” is collapsing in real time. If Texas can wobble, nothing is guaranteed anymore. 🚨 JUST MINUTES AGO: A key moment from Jack Smith’s deposition may change everything about Trump’s role on January 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol. In what insiders are calling the most consequential exchange of the entire session, Smith lays out evidence pointing directly to Trump’s involvement during the Capitol riot. “He was receiving calls from people he trusted — people he relied on to help spark the riot — and still refused to act to protect the Capitol. That goes straight to criminal intent in our case. And that’s what I’m revealing now.” This single moment is already sending shockwaves through Washington. 👇👇 Watch all eight hours of Jack Smith’s closed-door deposition below.
