In a stunning act of generosity, Edmonton Oilers superstar Leon Draisaitl has pledged his entire $12.9 million in prize money and sponsorship earnings to fund the Homeless Shelter Initiative, a project aimed at building emergency housing and long-term rehabilitation centers for people experiencing homelessness across Canada.
In an emotional statement, Draisaitl revealed the deeply personal motivation behind his decision:
