Hall Of Fame QB Terry Bradshaw Reveals Which Way He Now Leans Politically After Switching Sides

Pro Football Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw won’t reveal who exactly he’s voting for in the 2024 United States presidential election, but the Pittsburgh Steelers icon has admitted to switching political allegiances in the past.

With the Nov. 5 election quickly approaching, previous comments from Terry Bradshaw about his political alignment have resurfaced.

During a 2020 interview with Business Jet Travel ahead of that year’s election, Bradshaw was asked about his thoughts on the Republican Party. The four-time Super Bowl champion revealed that he switched from Republican to registered independent, though he’ll vote for who he thinks is the best candidate for the presidential chair:

I’ve been a Republican, but now I’m a registered independent. I don’t want to alienate anyone, and the minute you say, ‘I’m a Democrat’ or ‘I’m Republican,’ you’re kicking off the other side. I want the best person (in the White House), and I’ll pick the one who’s most like the way I feel.”

In 2017, Terry Bradshaw criticized then-president Donald Trump during the “NFL on FOX” after the latter called for the NFL to fire players who protested during the performance of the national anthem.

Trump infamously stated, “Get that son of a b**ch off the field.” Terry Bradshaw said he didn’t “condone” protests during the anthem but noted it was their freedom of speech. He then told Trump to “concentrate on serious issues” instead of criticizing NFL players and athletes.

There has been no shortage of legendary NFL quarterbacks who offered their support for Trump in 2016, 2020, and/or 2024 presidential elections. He has received endorsements from Brett Favre, John Elway and Fran Tarkenton. Trump claimed that Tom Brady called him in 2016 and stated he was voting for him, though the seven-time Super Bowl champion hasn’t offered any public endorsements.

Terry Bradshaw Enters 31st Season With FOX
Bradshaw will begin a new season with the “NFL on FOX” next Sunday when 26 of the 32 teams begin their 2024 regular season campaigns. The season kicks off on Thursday, with the Kansas City Chiefs welcoming the Baltimore Ravens to Arrowhead Stadium.

Bradshaw will be back on the set with Curt Menefee, Jimmy Johnson, Howie Long, Michael Strahan, Rob Gronkowski and Jay Glazer.
