VOICE OF THE PEOPLE: McDavid fanned on shot by taking a pass on trophy presentation Check comments 👇

Congratulations to the Florida Panthers on winning their team’s first Stanley Cup and to the Edmonton Oilers on a great playoff run and almost completing an historic comeback. It was a very entertaining series.

It was a little disappointing to see Connor McDavid make the decision to not come out on the ice to accept the Conn Smythe trophy as the MVP of the playoffs, the first time he has won this award. It is a longstanding tradition that the Conn Smythe is given out immediately after the last game of the finals, and the winner skates over and accepts it from the commissioner and has their picture taken with it.

There will be no picture of McDavid for the history books accepting the award for 2024.

It is rare when a losing player of the Stanley Cup wins the Conn Smythe but, occasionally, it does happen, most recently in 2003 with Jean-Sebastien Giguere and in 1987 with Ron Hextall, and they graciously were there to accept the award.

McDavid is the best player in the game and the face of the NHL; so many young fans look up to him and aspire to be like him. I think it’s a bad look for him and the game when he made the decision to not come out on the ice and accept this award that the greats of the game have won over the years. It’s an honour to win such a prestigious award and should be treated as such and not disregarded because you are upset about losing the game.

I am sure it was heartwrenching for him to get so close to winning a Cup and come up short, but you win with class and you lose with class.

McDavid doesn’t make many mistakes in hockey, it’s why he is the best, but I think this is one time he slipped up.

🚨 BREAKING: A former White House figure reportedly reacted with visible frustration after the governor of New Jersey announced a move to restrict the use of certain state-owned properties by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement>—a decision that immediately ignited a political firestorm. Governor Phil Murphy> framed the policy as a matter of state authority and administrative control, while critics argue it sends a broader message about federal-state tensions over immigration enforcement. The timing has raised eyebrows, especially as immigration remains a flashpoint issue nationwide. This isn’t just a policy tweak—it’s a symbolic clash. When a state takes a public stand involving federal agencies, the ripple effects go far beyond property access. Now many are watching to see whether this escalates into a larger legal showdown—or becomes the next defining battle in the immigration debate. 👇
